Racquel Bianca John was born in Bronx, New York, but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. While accompanying her brother to an audition in Atlanta, she was encouraged to audition and landed a lead role in an independent film with Robin Givens. This opportunity opened doors and launched her acting career. Wasting no time, Racquel delved into acting lessons before auditioning for other roles. With the support of her parents Racquel went to Los Angeles, taking classes and signing with an LA agent.
Racquel's most memorable moment was when she had the opportunity to study with renowned acting coach Carl Ford. She fell in love with his style of coaching. Racquel has studied with many great acting coaches. Over the years, Racquel has appeared in feature films, short films, television, and commercials. Racquel’s credits includes TV One’s Here We Go Again, directed by Eric Dean Seaton, Netflix’s Burning Sands, Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, BET’s The Quad, and another Netflix feature called Nappily Ever After. Outside of filming, Racquel keeps busy with painting and as the creator of Purposely You. She's been painting for ten years, and blogging for five years. Through her work she hopes to uplift, inspire, and encourage others to pursue their dreams through her Purposely You company.
